Another exciting day of games in 2022/23 Plusliga has been completed today with other 3 matches valid for a Round 27 that started today with the game between Ślepsk Malow Suwałki and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, won by the latter in straight sets.
At this moment, it seems that nobody can stop Projekt Warszawa, who celebrated today their ELEVENTH win a row, and today’s victims are leaders (at least, prior to this match) Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. The game ended after a very exciting tie break, with first two sets ended overtime, partially 29:27, 32:34, 22:25, 25:19 and 15:10.
Today the team from country’s capital can count on 26 points scored by Niels Klapwijk, top scorer on the winning side but, above all, on a super performance in blocking, scoring as many as 18 points from this element, 5 each from Artur Szalpuk and Piotr Nowakowski, against 10 of Aluron.
Uros Kovacevic, top scorer of the game with an impressive amount of 30 points including 1 block and 3 aces wasn’t enough to save Aluron who…lose their leadership in Plusliga!
To take advatage from this result is in fact Jastrzębski Węgiel, who won in straight sets (23:25, 20:25, 36:38) on the field of a very combative Cuprum Lubin, who eventually surrender after a never ending third set.
Definitely better on the hot moments of the game, the new leaders (at +1 from Aluron and +2 from Resovia, who will face last-placed BBTS Bielsko-Biała in the match that will close the Round) can count on two players in double digit, Rafał Szymura (top scorer with 22 points through 57% in attack, 3 winning blocks and 2 aces), and Tomasz Fornal, who also contributed with 15 (72% in attack, 1 block and 1 ace).
On the losing side the most prolific player was Alexander Berger, with 16 points to his name.
Close the picture another straight sets win between Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom and GKS Katowice, in favor of the visiting team (18:25, 19:25, 25:27) who rejected the attempt to reopen the game in third set.
To make the difference is the good performance in attack for the winners, with 63% and 55% efficiency against 50% and 37% of the hosts.
Opposite Damian Domagala top-scored the match with 17 points while Jakub Szymański and Gonzalo Quiroga also contributed with 16 and 15 respectively.
