The group compositions for the 2023 Olympic Qualification Tournaments have been officially announced!
France has automatically qualified for the men’s and women’s volleyball competitions at the 2024 Olympics in Paris as the host nation, while the remaining spots will be determined through a two-step qualification process.
Firstly, six spots per gender will be awarded to the top two teams from each of the three pools in the Olympic Qualification Tournaments, which will consist of the top 24 teams in the FIVB Volleyball World Ranking, while the other five spots per gender will be given to the top five teams not yet qualified at the end of the preliminary phase of the Volleyball Nations League 2024, prioritizing teams from continents without any qualified teams and then the top team(s) not yet qualified.

Olympic Qualifications Tournaments – the top two teams from each pool will earn a spot at Paris 2024:
The Women’s tournament will take place on 16/24 September, 2023 in China (Pool A), Japan (Pool B), Poland (Pool C).
The Men’s tournament will take place September 30 – October 8, 2023 in Brazil (Pool A), Japan (Pool B), China (Pool C).
Five countries per gender will be selected by selecting the top five not yet qualified teams in the FIVB World Ranking after the preliminary phase of the Volleyball Nations League.
To ensure the principle of universality, these teams will be selected in the following order of priority:
1) Team(s) from continents without any qualified team(s)
2) The top team(s) not yet qualified.
