Round 25 of 2022/23 Ligue A, the penultimate Round before playoffs, has been completed today with the game between Narbonne (who are still fighting for fourth place in the standings), and No.10 Paris.
With only three points at stake, there are several positions still uncertain, an now Narbonne are at fourth place, +1 from direct rivals Tourcoing (heavily defeated on Friday on the field of Chaumont). In the last Round, scheduled next Saturday, Narbonne will play on the field of Saint Nazaire currently 6th, while Tourcoing at home, against Nantes, currently second but only at +2 from Chaumont, who can still reach the second place and will play on the field of Montpellier (who are sure to close regular season at No.8, and thus will face leaders Tours in playoffs quarterfinals).
About today’s game, Narbonne celebrated a 3-1 home win over the team from country’s capital (25:23, 25:15, 21:25, 25:20), after first set in which the visiting side took the control of the game until 14-16. After leveling the score, Narbonne managed to close it 25-23, and then to easily win the second, with a clear 25-15. Paris return the favor, by winning third set trying to reopen the game, but the hosts reply with a great fourth set, dominated from start to finish.
Jordi Ramon ended the game as absolute top scorer with as many as 27 points to his name including 3 aces, 1 block and 57% in attack, while Nikolay Kolev also contributed with 6 of his team’s 11 winning blocks. Joachim Panou was the most prolific player on the losing side with 21 points (1 aces and 54% in attack).
