France: 3 points for Poitiers, Sète and Saint Nazaire in penultimate Round for 5th Place

Playoffs for 5th place and the consequent ticket for next edition of Challenge Cup continued today with fourth and penultimate Round.

The first game to finish is the one between Poitiers and Narbonne, easily won by the hosts in front of more than 1000 home fans in just one hours and 18 minutes of play (25:17, 25:16, 25:20). Lukas Kozub was named MVP of the match, while Gabriel Candido and Youssef Hamdy Awad scored 13 points each on the winning side, who was better in basically all elements. Julien Faganas ended the game as top scorer with 14 points (but with only 40% in attack: 10/25, 4 blocked and 2 errors). Behind him…nothing, as the other top scorer for Narbonne (who, however, will play in CEV Cup next season thanks to Tours’ qualification in Ligue A final), was Tanguy Dijoud with only 5 points.

Home win also for Sète and Saint Nazaire, who defeated in four sets Montpellier and Paris respectively.
The first sink the rivals (25:23, 25:27, 25:21, 25:20) with as many as 15 aces, canceling the stunning performance of Theo Faure (absolute top scorer with 25 points to his name), while the second down Pris (25:16, 25:17, 23:25, 25:17) with 22 points of Kyle Ensing, 10 aces and 57% in attack.
