VNL 2023: the 30 players of Bulgaria. From Italy also Kaziyski and Nikolov!

Bulgarian National Team head coach Plamen Konstantinov made official the list of 30 player involved for 2023 Volleyball Nations League, and there is also 38-years-old Matey Kaziyski, currently involved in Italian Superlega’s final with Itas Trentino’s jersey, against another player in the list, the 19-years-old Aleksandar Nikolov, of Cucine Lube Civitanova.

The list has been announced today and, without outside hitter currently in Dynamo-LO, Russia, Todor Skrimov, there are some well-known faces in Bulgarian volleyball absent from National Team in recent times, including Matey Kaziyski himself, Teodor Salparov, Georgi Bratoev and Valentin Bratoev.
The first group of players are already at work in “Hristo Botev” hall in Sofia and, around May 15, also head coach will join the group in country’s capital together with his assistants Andrey Zhekov, Georgi Petrov, Venislav Naumov and Milen Bogdanov.

The list:

Setters: Georgij Bratoev, Georgij Seganov, Delcho Raev, Dobromir Dimitrov

Opposites: Branimir Grozdanov, Dimitar Dimitrov, Radoslav Parapunov, Tsvetan Sokolov.

Outside hitters: Aleksandr Nikolov, Asparuh Asparuhov, Valentin Bratoev, Denis Karyagin, Martin Atanasov, Matey Kaziyski, Nikolay Penchev, Samuel Valchinov, Svetoslav Ivanov.

Middle blockers: Alex Grozdanov, Iliya Petkov, Krasimir Georgiev, Nikolai Kolev, Nikolaj Kurtev, Svetoslav Gotsev, Stefan Chavdarov.

Liberos: Vladislav Ivanov, Martin Bozhilov, Teodoro Salparov, Simeone Dobrev.
