France Ligue B | Saint Jean D’Illac defeat Mende in four sets to celebrate a historic promotion in Ligue A!

In decisive final Game 2 between second-placed in Ligue B Mende, and regular season winners Saint Jean D’Illac, and after a Game 1 dominated by the latter, and between two sides who never played in top division, to celebrate are again Saint Jean D’Illac, after an exciting first set closed 29-31 and a second, again, with the minimum gap, 23-25.
The hosts managed to win the third, but it was useless as, after the straight sets win in Game 1, two sets were enough for the visiting team, who closed the game in four sets (29:31, 23:25, 25:19, 17:25) to celebrate a historic promotion in Ligue A. Maxim Hervoir and Gauthier Bonnefoy shared the title as top scorers with 20 points each, with 63% and 61% in attack respectively, while Augustin Guerin also contributed with 6 winning blocks. MVP award, however, to libero Corentin Phelut, decisive in reception and defense.
Manuel Balague was the most prolific player on the losing side with 18 points.
