2023 Volleyball Nations League Updates!
In Pool 1 in Ottawa, Canada, on the european night, the hosts suffered a 1-3 (21:25, 25:21, 21:25, 16:25) defeat against an once again very good Argentina, led in score by Pablo Koukartsev and Luciano Vicentin, with 12 and 10 points respectively. For Canada, the 17 points from top scorer Ryan Sclater were not enough.
In Pool 2 in Nagoya, Japan, Slovenia defeat France with the same result, 3-1 (25:23 25:18 21:25 25:22) led by a great Rok Možič, absolute top scorer of the match with 21 points, well supported by Tine Urnaut, who added 16 and a good performance of Jan Kozamernik in blocking.

“I feel amazing!” said Rok Mozic after the match.
“Winning or losing changes everything for me. I had two bad days after we lost to Bulgaria, so I wanted this win a lot. France is a good team, but we managed the situation at the end of the set. We also had the opportunities to win by 3-0. This is an important three points for us and we need to continue this way. This is my passion. I like this game, I like winning, I like playing for my country with these teammates and I try to enjoy every point. Great emotions today, but we need to focus on tomorrow. Iran for sure is a very strong team, but if play well, we can win that game too.”

Andrea Giani’s players, on the other hand, played a good game but the rivals were better in the devisive moments. Timothée Carle, recently conforme at Germany’s Berlin Recycling Volleys, was the most prolific player with 16 points.
On the same Pool, straight sets win also Iran, who down China (23:25, 25:15, 25:20, 25:14) with a very strong performance of opposite Amin Esmaeilnezhad, 26 points including 6 aces and 1 block.
