European Silver League: Latvia take first step towards title – four sets win in Hungary!

After winning first set with an easy 25:17 and in front of more than 1600 home fans, hosts Hungary collapsed and suffered a 1-3 (25:17, 10:25, 21:25, 11:25) heavy defeat against Latvia in first leg of 2023 European Silver League final for title.
In addition to a good team performance in attack (54% to 39% of the hosts), to make the difference are as many as 14 winning blocks (to 5) and 7 aces (to 1).
Renars Jansons ended the game as top scorer with 22 points through 56% in attack including 2 aces and 2 winning blocks, while Kristaps Smits and Kristers Dardzans also contributed with 19 and 15, respectively.
Kristòf Horvath was the most prolific player in Hungary’s jersey with 13 points through 40% in attack.
Decisive second leg on Sunday, in Latvia.
