European Silver League: title to Latvia! Hungary defeated in straight sets!

It was an historic success for Latvia: for first time in history, they won Men European Silver League, after beating Hungary with a clear 3-0 (25:21, 25:16, 25:18).
The winners, who. already won the first game on the field of the rivals by 1-3 on Thursday, had a heavy advantage when going into the second match and, in front of their home fans in Riga, confirmed their superiority despite some problems in reception but with very high numbers
in attack with 60% of team performance.
Decisive the young opposite Renars-Pauls Jansons with 21 points, 3 blocks and 69% in attack, and outside hitter and MVP Kristaps Smits who also contributed with 17 all in attack, through 61%.

Recall that, in semifinals, the team coached by Pole Michal Gogol easily down Austria with a double 3-0, while Hungary defeated eliminated Cyprus, but needed a Golden Set.
In any case, thanks to this result, Latvia will play again the European Golden League after just one year of absence, following last year’s relegation (11th place).
