Cagliari awaits Milano for Round of 16 of CEV Cup (!!!)

This unexpected news has been made official by Fipav Sardinia: Allianz Milano will play the home match of the eventual Round of 16 of 2023/24 CEV Cup at the PalaPirastu in Cagliari.
The initiative to bring a match of the second European competition to Sardinia was proposed a few days ago, thanks to the excellent relations between the president of Allianz Milano Lucio Fusaro, and the president of the Sardinia Regional Committee, Eliseo Secci.
A few hours ago the official news which, obviously, will have to be confirmed after the away match of the 16th finals with Decospan VT Menen, scheduled in Belgium on Wednesday 29 November at 8.30pm (local time).
In the first leg, Milano prevailed with a clear 3-0 and they will therefore need to win two sets to qualify.
If they progress to the next round, head coach Roberto Piazza’s team will face the winners between Greece’s PAOK Thessaloniki and Croatia’s Mladost Zagreb (first leg 3-0 in favor of the Greeks).
