After the advance played yesterday between Hatay B.Şehir Bld. and Kuşgƶz İzmir VinƧ Akkuş Bld., ended at tie break, an exciting Round 9 of 2023/24 Axa Sigorta Efeler Ligi Metin Gƶrgün Sezonu has been closed today.
No problem for leaders Halkbank, who easily defeated Bursa BBSK in straight sets, partially 25:19, 25:15 and 25:21, despite they played without key players Nimir Abdel Aziz and Earvin Ngapeth, on the bench.
Despite losing second set, also FenerbahƧe Parolapara earned 3 points by beating a combative Rams Global Cizre Bld. with the score of 3-1 (25:18, 19:25, 25:18, 25:15), while continued to struggle Arkas Spor, who suffered another defeat this time on the field of Spor Toto, who won the game 3-2 (22:25, 27:29, 25:16, 28:26, 15:12) although an impressive performance by German bomber Georg Grozer, author of 29 points through 64% in attack, 3 winning blocks and 1 ace. However, for the winners, Bozidar Vucicevic did even better scoring as many as 33 points with 60% in attack, 1 block and 1 ace, well supported by an excellent Morteza Sharifi who also contributed with 21 points (67% in attack, 2 blocks and 3 aces.
Tie break win also for Develi Bld. against favorite (at least on paper) Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, 3-2 (17:25, 25:19, 25:21, 22:25, 15:9) with an amazing performance in blocking, scoring 18 points from this element against only 2 of the rivals.
Victory in four sets also for Brand Group Alanya Bld., who won on the field of Bigadiç Bld. 2-3 (16:25, 25:27, 27:25, 25:23, 10:15), with 27 points by Bardia Saadat (54% in attack, 4 aces and 1 block), while Ziraat Bankkart struggled more than expected but, eventually, managed to win on the field of Türşad with the score of 1-3 (25:22, 18:25, 23:25, 21:25) to keep third place in the standings. Wouter Ter Maat and Matt Anderson were decisive scoring 20 and 17 points respectively.
Efelerligi will continue next weekend.
