After three advances played yesterday, Round 11 of 2023/24 Plusliga continued today with other three games and not without upsets!
The day started with a great win of Trefl Gdańsk over a Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle still penalized by injuries but, in any case, the winners played a very good game and were able to close with a clean 3-0 (25:20, 25:20, 25:21) in front of their home fans. MVP of the match setter Kamil Droszyński, who sent three of his players in double digit, starting from top scorer Mikołaj Sawicki, who scored 21
points through 59% in attack including 2 winning blocks and 2 aces, followed by Kewin Sasak and Jordan Zaleszczyk, who also contributed with 18 and 11 points respectively…with the latter who also scored 5 winning blocks (of his team’s 12), 1 ace and 100% in attack (5/5). Bartłomiej Kluth was the most prolific player for ZAKSA.
3 points also for a super Projekt Warszawa, who defeated leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel with the score of 3-1 (25:22, 11:25, 25:23, 25:23) in front of more than 5000 home fans, more precisely 5140! Also this game awarded the winners’ setter MVP, with Jan Firlej who earned the title, while Artur Szalpuk and Linus Weber scored 12 and 10 points respectively, and Yurii Semeniuk also contributed with 4 winning blocks. About the performance in blocking Jastrzębski, who remained to the top of the standings with one more points of today’s rivals, scored as many as 18 points from this element (11 only from their top scorer Norber Huber, who closed the game with 16 points) but it wasn’t enough.
Close the picture the home win of Barkom Każany Lwów, who down newcomers Exact Systems Hemarpol Częstochowa by 3-1 (20:25, 25:18, 25:16, 25:22), with 14 winning blocks (against only 4 of the rivals), 24 points from top scorer Vasyl Tupchii (61% in attack and 7 winning blocks) and 18 from MVP Luciano Palonsky (55% in attack and 2 aces).
Round 11 will come into an end tomorrow with the last two scheduled games. In the first one, Enea Czarni Radom will face Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, while in the evening No.8 BOGDANKA LUK Lublin will play against No.9 PSG Stal Nysa.
