CEV Cup: Arkas Izmir, Río Duero Soria and Nantes first quarterfinalists!

Second legs of 2023/24 CEV Cup Round of 16 started today with first three verdicts and 3 teams who will progress to the next stage of the competition, Quarterfinals.
After a 2-3 (18:25, 26:24, 22:25, 30:28, 12:15) win in Czech Republic, on the field of ČEZ Karlovarsko, Arkas Izmir celebrated qualification led by Nicholas Hoag, the man of the match with 28 points through 70% in attack and 7 of his team’s 12 aces.
Not a good day for the teams from Czech Republic, as Karlovarsko’s compatriots Kladno Volejbal cz suffered a clear 3-0 (25:20, 25:23, 25:19) on the field of France’s Nantes Rezé Métropole, who leveled their role as favorites with 15 points from top scorer Tomas Lopez (with 75% in attack) and 12 from Chizoba Neves Atu.
The third team qualified come from Spain, Río Duero Soria who, despite a home defeat in first leg, managed to win in Switzerland, on the field of Chênois Geneve 0-3 (25:27, 15:25, 30:32).
