Challenge Cup: Monza and Galatasaray take first step towards semifinals

Quarterfinals of 2023/24 CEV Challenge Cup started today with first two games and first two teams who took first step towards semifinals.
At Levski Sofia Sport Hall, Bulgaria, all easy for Italy’s Mint Vero Volley Monza who celebrated a clean 0-3 (22:25, 23:25, 13:25) over the hosts Levski Sofia, with 8 aces, 17 points from top scorer Eric Loeppky (6 aces, 1 block and 59% in attack) and 16 from Nik Mujanovič (with 1 ace, 1 block and 64% in attack).
Away win also for Galatasaray HDI Istanbul from Turkey who, after a first set in which they had to recover from 16-11 and then also from 21-19, celebrated a 0-3 (24:26, 19:25, 23:25) in Portugal against the hosts Fonte Bastardo Azores, led by Jan Hadrava, Miran Kujudzic and Baturalo Güngör, who scored 16, 14 and 13 points, respectively.
