Round 17 or, if you prefer, Round 2 of second leg of 2023/24 Plusliga continued on Saturday with other three games.
Leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel celebrated a clean 0-3 (22:25, 20:25, 22:25) sweep on the field of Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, with 15 points from top scorer Tomasz Fornal (50% in attack and 4 of the winners’9 winning blocks) and 10 from Jean Patry (53% in attack, with 1 ace and 1 block). Norbert Huber, scoring 9 points through 64% in attack with 1 ace and 1 block too earned MVP title.
A good news for Champions League titleholders Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, who celebrated a very important straight sets win on the field of PSG Stal Nysa, 0-3 (21:25, 17:25, 22:25), to reach the 9th place in the standings but with the same number of points, 24, of No.8 PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów, who defeated on Friday KGHM Cuprum Lubin.
Setter Marcin Janusz was named MVP of the game, also scoring 3 points, 1 winning block and 2 aces, while three players reached a double digit for the winners: Bartosz Bednorz, top scorer with 17 points to his name through 52% in attack with 3 blocks and 1 ace, followed by Łukasz Kaczmarek who added 16 and Daniel Chiţigoi who also contributed with 11. Remigiusz Kapica, the only player in double digit on the losing side, ended the game with 10 points, 1 ace and a great 75% in attack.
Predictions respected in the game that closed the day, also ended in straight sets, as No.5 Trefl Gdańsk defeated last-placed Enea Czarni Radom, partially 25:18, 25:16, 25:22. Setter Kamil Droszyński was named MVP of the match.
