Poland: four sets victories for Stal Nysa and Barkom in advances of Round 27. Resovia ko!

Round 27 of 2023/24 Plusliga or, if you prefer, Round 12 of second leg, started today with first two games.
In the first one, PSG Stal Nysa celebrated a hard-fought 1-3 (25:23, 22:25, 24:26, 24:26) on the field Trefl Gdańsk to rise, at least temporarily, to the seventh place in the standings with 40 points, at +2 from Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and +1 from Indykpol AZS Olsztyn. These two will play away on the field BOGDANKA LUK Lublin and Projekt Warszawa, on Sunday and Monday, respectively.
Today, in front of as many as 9200 home fans and after more than 2 hours of play, the winners were slightly better in blocking (15 to 10), but struggled in attack with only 22% of team efficiency. Maciej Muzaj was the most prolific player for Stal Nysa with 17 points to his name, closely followed by Zouhier El Graoui, who added 15, MVP Nicolas Zerba (12 points and the best among his teammates in attack, with 67% and 4 winning blocks), Wojciech Włodarczyk and Dominik Kramczyński, with 11 each. Kewin Sasak was the top scorer of the match tallying 22 points for Gdańsk (48% in attack and 1 block), but he wasn’t enough.
In the evening, Barkom Każany Lwów stun Asseco Resovia Rzeszów with a 3-1 (19:25, 25:20, 25:18, 25:22) home win. Despite Resovia’s recent triumph in the CEV Cup on Tuesday, their performance in Wieluń was below expectations, falling short of their usual standard. Barkom capitalized on this, delivering a solid performance and taking all points avaible from the match, led by an excellent Vasyl Tupchii, top scorer of the match with 23 points to his name through an impressive 70% in attack and 2 winning blocks, and MVP Luciano Palonsky, who added 15 (52% in attack, 1 ace and 1 block).
Round 27 will continue on Saturday with a very important clash between second-to-last KGHM Cuprum Lubin and No.13 Exact Systems Hemarpol Częstochowa, at +2 from the rivals.
