Turkish Cup: Halkbank lift the trophy! Arkas defeated in four sets in final

In a thrilling end at the TVF Cengiz Göllü Volleyball Hall, and for second year in a row Halkbank emerged victorious in the 2023-2024 AXA Sigorta Erkekler Kupa Voley, Turkish Cup, by beating Arkas Spor with a 1-3 (25:23, 23:25, 26:28, 23:25) victory.
Leading the charge for the winners, who dominated regular season with 25 victories in 26 games, was once again bomber Nimir Abdel-Aziz, who delivered an outstanding performance to be named the match’s top scorer and MVP with 30 points, achieving an impressive 71% attack success rate, including 1 block and 2 of his team’s 12 aces. Earvin Ngapeth also made a significant contribution with 16 points and 55% in attack.
On the other side of the net, Efe Mandiraci was the most prolific player with 22 points, while Burutay Subasi and Gyorgy Grozer (with 4 aces but the same number of points and blocked) each added 19 points to their team’s effort but, despite their valiant performance, Arkas Spor fell short of winning the game, making way for Halkbank’s well-derserved celebration in Bursa.
The winners thus confirmed themselves as the most-titled team in this competition with 9 successes in club’s history.
