Poland: Andrea Giani and Bartosz Kurek join ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle!

From the 2024/2025 season, legendary former volleyball player Andrea Giani will be the head coach of ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
With multiple Olympic and World Championship medals as a player, he brings his vast experience to the Polish powerhouse, author of a bad season in recently concluded Plusliga. Having previously coached teams like Modena, Verona, Slovenian and the German national team, his recent success includes leading the French national team to gold in the 2022 Nations League. ZAKSA’s President, Jadwiga Cichoń, expressed excitement about Andrea Giani’s arrival, emphasizing his strategic approach and leadership skills.
In addition Bartosz Kurek, one of Poland’s most esteemed volleyball players, returns to ZAKSA as team captain.
His illustrious career includes a World Championship MVP title in 2018 and several national and international awards. His return is seen as a significant boost for the team, bringing extensive experience and leadership.
He also expressed his commitment to ZAKSA, highlighting the club’s global reputation and his dedication to leading the team to further success. President Cichoń welcomed his return, praising his skills and leadership as crucial for the team’s future achievements.
