Italy: Piacenza shock Modena at PalaPanini to take control of quarterfinal series!

After a thrilling Game 1 in Modena, ended at tie break in favor of No.4 in regular season Valsa Group Modena after an epic comeback, and another exciting Game 2 at Piacenza’s Palabanca, also ended in five sets this time in favor of the hosts and No.5 in regular season Gas Sales BluEnergy Piacenza, who tied the score, the most exciting 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca quarterfinal series so far moved again to Modena’s PalaPanini.
Piacenza earned an important 1-3 (17:25, 25:17, 20:25, 28:30) road win, moving ahead 2-1 in the series!
After taking the first set with a clean 25-17 win, Modena regrouped to level the match with an identical score in the second one. The visitors responded by winning the third set 25-20 and even sealed the victory in a hard-fought fourth set, 30-28!
Efe Mandiraci led Piacenza with 19 points to his name through 68% in attack, 2 aces, 42% positive receptions and MVP honors, while José Gutierrez with 13, Alessandro Bovolenta and Robertlandy Simon with 12 each provided a strong support.
Modena was led by Luca Porro with 19 points and Vlad Davyskiba with 16.
This amazing series will continue on Sunday, March 22 at Piacenza’s Palabanca, with Piacenza holding a chance to close out the series at home.
