Poland: historic transfers move in Plusliga – Wilfredo Leon joins Bogdanka LUK Lublin!

Wilfredo Leon, one of the world’s best volleyball players, has officially joined Bogdanka LUK Lublin, marking one of the most significant transfers in PlusLiga history. The transfer was confirmed today, on July 1, 2024, after much anticipation and speculation.
The club achieved their best result last season, finishing fifth and participating in the Polish Cup final tournament.

Interestingly, he chose Lublin over other interested clubs, and he cited the club’s ambition and his family’s influence as key factors in his decision.

“The club is very ambitious and wants to reach a higher level. I thought, ‘Why not?’ That’s why I’m here today,” the 31-year-old player said in an interview with Polsat Sport.

Leon was officially introduced as a new member of Bogdanka LUK Lublin in a ceremony attended by city and regional officials, as well as sponsors who helped secure the transfer.
