Italy: Perugia down Monza in four sets in quarterfinals debut!

Regular season winners Sir Susa Scai Perugia opened their SuperLega Credem Banca playoff run with a strong comeback, defeating Vero Volley Monza 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:16, 25:17) in Game 1 of the Scudetto Quarterfinals at their Pala Barton Energy.
No.8 Monza started the match in a perfect way, claiming the first set 25–21 thanks to the attacking duo of Diego Frascio, who led all scorers with 19 points, and Martin Atanasov, who added 18 points at the end of the game.
Perugia, however, quickly found their rhythm from the second set onward and never looked back.
Led by captain Simone Giannelli, the home side improved its offensive efficiency and took control of the remaining three sets.
Kamil Semeniuk delivered an excellent performance, scoring 17 points to earn MVP honors, while Wassim Ben Tara also contributed 15 points. Double digit also for Oleh Plotnytskyi, who added 13, and Roberto Russo, who finished with 12 points to his name as Perugia won the final three sets comfortably to secure the victory.
With the result, Perugia takes a 1–0 lead in the best-of-five quarterfinal series.
Game 2 will be played on March 15 at 17:00 at the Opiquad Arena in Monza.
