EuroVolley2026: Israel beat Croatia in Pool D of qualifiers

CEV EuroVolley 2026 Qualifiers continued on Wednesday with the gale between Croatia and Israel valid for Pool D.
At Nastavno-Sportska Dvorana Gradski Vrt in Osijek, the hosts suffered a 1-3 (22:25, 25:23, 22:25, 23:25) defeat mostly thanks to the blow of Shay Liberman, absolute top scorer of the match with 25 points to his name including 2 aces, 1 block and 45% in attack. Despite several problems in reception (only 35% of positive reception at the end of the match), he was well supported by Mark Rura, who added 18.
Gabrijel Cvaciger and Ivan Zeljković scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, for Croatia.
Competition will continue on Saturday with other three games: in Pool D, Estonia will compete at home against Croatia, in Pool B, Azerbaijan will face Belgium while, in Pool C, Montenegro will face Czech Republic.
