Belgium: Asterix Avo Beveren lift 13th Supercup, Menen secures a historic first trophy in club’s history!

Asterix Avo Beveren claimed their 13th Supercup victory in a thrilling match against Charleroi.
The girls from East Flanders started strong created an early 4-1 lead, but the rivals quickly responded with powerful middle attacks, bringing the score to 10-8.
Despite an intense performance from the service line from both sides, Beveren fly to 17-11 lead. However, Charleroi fought back, equalizing the score and securing the first set 26-24 after an exciting set final.
In the second set, both teams played at very high-level, exchanging great attacks and again strong serves. Beveren built a 12-8 lead, but Charleroi narrowed the gap to 19-16. Asterix regained control in the final moments, taking the set 25-21.
The third set mirrored the previous ones, with both teams battling fiercely.
Asterix Avo Beveren edged ahead at 14-12, extending their lead also to the decisive 25-17 to win the set without major problems.
At this point of the match, Charleroi mounted a late challenge in the fourth set, but the rivals secured a 25-22 victory, also lifting the 2024/25 Supercup with a great 3-1 (24:26, 25:21, 25:17, 25:22) win.

In the men’s competition, Decospan Menen made history by claiming their first-ever major trophy, defeating Knack Roeselare 3-1 (25:27, 25:22, 25:23, 25:18).
After a balanced start, Roeselare took the lead in the first set and won it with the minimum gap, 27-25, but Menen rallied to win the second set 25-22, tying the game at 1-1.
The third set saw a hard-fought contest, with both teams tied at 13-13, but Menen pulled ahead to win the set 25-23, carrying their momentum into the fourth set, when they dominated early, racing to a clear 15-10 lead and closing out the set 25-18 without major problem.
This victory marks a significant moment for the team and a great satisfaction for their new coach, Julien Lemay.
