Italy: Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina say good bye to Amir Golzadeh

Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina’s Superlega campaign has undergone an unexpected turn with just three rounds remaining in the regular season.
The young Iranian talent Amir Golzadeh, born in 2003, has officially left the club to move abroad, thus prematurely ending his first intense appearance in Italy’s top division.

The decision was made following a financial offer deemed “unrefusable,” which the player chose to accept, exercising a specific exit clause in his contract. The Grottazzolina club, currently last-placed with only one win and 5 points in the standings, acknowledging the player’s willingness and the financial implications, chosing not to impose any vetoes, and allowing the young opposite hitter to embark on this new professional adventure.

About the club, the recent home defeat against Monza has profoundly affected their hopes of staying in the italian elite competition and, during that match, the player was involved in an accidental collision that forced him to leave the field early.
Although tests ruled out serious consequences, the medical prognosis would have prevented him from participating in the challenging trip to Trento.
The defeat against Monza, combined with the results elsewhere, made the path to stay in Superlega nearly impossible.
The Iranian opposite hitter’s departure, however, was not a cold, bureaucratic transition, as he wished to bid farewell with a long and heartfelt message, speaking with respect for a city that welcomed him like an idol from the moment he arrived just before the opening day.
“With respect and gratitude,” he emphasized, “writing these few lines is not easy for me. Leaving a team that, over this period, has become part of my life and my memories is not easy, especially since I was fortunate enough to work with people, fans, and a club environment that have always treated me with affection, respect, and support.”
The Iranian thanked every member of the club, from teammates to the coaching staff, reserving a special thought for the warmth of the supporters: “From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you. The energy and affection I received will never be forgotten, and I will always carry with me a great respect for this city and this team.”
