Challenge Cup: second day of Prequalification Round is over. Winning debut for Arkas Izmir and Beroe 2016 Stara Zagora

Zonal Prequalification Round of 2024/25 CEV Challenge Cup continued today with other two games.
In Pool B Turkish powerhouse Arkas Izmir made their winning debut in this edition of the competition with a 3-1 (25:20, 25:23, 22:25, 25:20) win over Steaua Bucuresti from Romania. After 112 minutes of intense play, German superstar George Grozer scored 19 points for the winners, well supported by Burutay Subasi who added 14 including 6 of his team’s 11 aces.
Rares Balean, the most prolific player of the game, scored 21 points for the team from Romania’s capital.
In Pool A, Bulgaria’s Beroe 2016 Stara Zagora celebrated a clear straight sets win over modest KV Peja from Kosovo, 0-3 (18:25, 19:25, 18:25).
Qualification tournament will continue tomorrow always at DAK Polichnis “Alexandros Nikolaidis” in Thessaloniki with last two games of Pool Stage.
