3 min read

Second Round of 2024/25 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
In first one, PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów has no major problems to beat Cuprum Stilon Gorzów, in a game that ended with a clear 3-0 (25:18, 25:22, 25:15).
The match saw the winners dominate in two of the three sets, with the second set being the most competitive. Under the guidance of coach Gheorghe Cretu, they secured their second victory of the season, while former Cuprum Lubin suffered their first loss after a tie break win against Trefl Gdańsk in Round 1.
Top scorers included MVP Amin Esmaeilnezhad, who left the court with 20 points to his name through 61% in attack, 5 winning blocks and 1 ace, and Ziga Stern who also contributed with 12 points with 65% in attack and 1 ace.
For Cuprum Stilon Gorzów, Chizoba Neves Atu was the most prolific player as well as the only player in double digit with 11 points (53% in attack and 1 block).
Bełchatów’s superiority in attack, as well as their blocking (10 to 3) and serving (4 to 1), proved too much for their rivals.
In another match of the same round, Ślepsk Malow Suwałki triumphed over Indykpol AZS Olsztyn 3-1 (15:25, 25:15, 25:19, 25:19).
Despite losing the first set, the winners rallied to take the next three, securing their second win of the season.
Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, on the other hand, recorded their second defeat in as many games.
Top scorers for the winners included MVP Bartosz Filipiak with 22 points to his name through 59% in attack and 3 winning blocks, Paweł Halaba and Quentin Jouffroy each adding 13 (with 5 winning blocks for the second one) and Konrad Stajer with 11. Manuel Armoa (14), Nicolas Szerszeń (12), and Jan Hadrava (11) led the scoring for Olsztyn. Ślepsk Malow Suwałki outperformed their rivals in attack, serving (5-2), and blocking (12-10).
Round 2 will continue tomorrow with other two games: newcomers Nowak-Mosty MKS Będzin will welcome PGE Projekt Warszawa while, in the evening, GKS Katowice will face PSG Stal Nysa. This round will close on Tuesday with the last game between Indykpol AZS Olsztyn and ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, scheduled starting from 6pm local time.
