Poland: 3 points for PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn on Sunday games of Round 5

Round 5 of 2024/25 Plusliga continued today with other 2 games, in which both sides earned three very important points for the standings.
PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów needed four sets to prevail at home over a very combative Ślepsk Malow Suwałki, above all in first and fourth set, 3-1 (28:26, 17:25, 25:19, 26:24).
After more than two hours of play, Pavel Perić was named MVP of the game with 17 points to his name through 56% in attack, 2 winning blocksand 1 ace, well supported by Amin Esmaeilnezhad, top scorer among the winners with 18 points, 49% in attack and 1 block, while Bartosz Filipiak left the court as top scorer of the match scoring 23 points on the losing side (63% in attack, 2 winning blocks and 4 of his team’s 12 aces!
Straight sets win for Indykpol AZS Olsztyn over PSG Stal Nysa, 3-0 (25:18, 25:17, 26:24), who celebrated their first seasonal win in front of more than 3000 home fans at their Hala Urania.
Top scorer and MVP Jan Hadrava left the court with 15 points to his name through 58% in attack including 2 winning blocks and 2 aces, well supported by Nicolas Szerszeń and Moritz Karlitzek, also in double digit with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Zouheir El Graoui was the most prolific player on the losing side with 12 points, closely followed by Dawid Dulski who added 11, but Stal Nysa, who also collected only one victor so far, started to play only in third set, when they also wasted a 11-16 lead, suffering the hosts’ comeback from 18-21 and losing the set overtime, 26-24.
Round 5 will close tomorrow with last two games: GKS Katowice will welcome Barkom Każany Lwów while, in the evening, PGE Projekt Warszawa will face Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in big match triyng to regain the first place in the standings, currently in the hands of BOGDANKA LUK Lublin who, yesterday, defeated Asseco Resovia Rzeszów by 3-1 to stay unbeaten.
