Poland: Warszawa back to the top! 3 points also for ZAKSA on Saturday games of Round 6

After two advances player yesterday, won by Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and Jastrzębski Węgiel, Round 6 of 2024/25 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle secured a 3-1 (25:20, 25:18, 29:31, 25:22) victory against PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów in a match rich in excitement, particularly in the third set, that saw the visiting side narrowly lose 29-31. This win marks ZAKSA’s third victory of the season, while Bełchatów has now suffered their second defeat.
The winners outperformed their opponents in decisive moments of the game, with stronger attack efficiency (60% compared to 52%) and blocking (11-8), and committing fewer errors overall. Igor Grobelny, with 20 points to his name through 57% attack success rate, was named MVP of the match.
Meanwhile, in the evening, PGE Projekt Warszawa overcame Barkom-Każany Lwów with the score of 1-3 (25:18, 18:25, 20:25, 18:25) to regain the top of the current standings.
Although Barkom took an early lead by winning the first set, the team from country’s capital bounced back to claim the match, cementing their position led by MVP Linus Weber, who left the court with 21 points to his name througu 64% attack efficiency, as well as MVP title.
Round 6 will continue tomorrow with other three games: BOGDANKA LUK Lublin will welcome Ślepsk Malow Suwałki, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will face Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa while, in the evening, PSG Stal Nysa will welcome Cuprum Stilon Gorzów.
