Hypo Tirol Innsbruck and Olympiacos Piraeus take first step towards 2024/25 CEV Champions League Pool Stage after two very important straight sets win in their respective game in first leg of third (and last) round of qualifiers.
Austrian Champions Hypo Tirol easily defeated Orion Stars Doetinchem from The Netherlands with the score of 3-0, partially 25:22, 25:22 and 25:16, after just 70 minutes of play, led in score by Arthur Nath, also top scorer of the game with 17 points through 68% in attack and 1 ace. Tom Koops was the most prolific player for the visiting side with 13 points with 2 aces, 1 block and 50% in attack.
All easy also for Olympiacos Piraeus, who won in Romania, on the field of CSM Corona Brasov, with the score of 0-3 (20:25, 19:25, 20:25) with 18 points each from Aleksandar Atanasijević (1 ace, 1 block and 65% in attack) and John Gordon Perrin (1 ace, 3 blocks and 56% in attack).
Double digit also for Mitar Djuric, who also contributed with 10 including 1 ace, 3 blocks and 75%
in attack, the same number of points scored by Ewoud Gommans on the losing side, with 1 ace, 2 blocks but with only 35% in attack.
