France: Sète down Poitiers in straight sets in a game that closed Round 4!

Round 4 of 2024/25 Marmara Spike League has been completed today with the last scheduled game between Sète and Poitiers, ended in straight sets in favor of the home team, 3-0 (28:26, 25:14, 31:29), and after 1 hours and 46 minutes of play (48 minutes only third set).
In a hard-fought clash, and in a sold-out arena, the winners made the difference above all in blocking, scoring 11 points from this element compared to the rivals’ 4.
Tristan Schlienger left the court as top scorer with 18 points to his name including 1 ace, 2 winning blocks and an impressive 71% in attack, but double digit also for Jesse Elser and Hugo De Leon, who added 14 and 13, respectively.
Olympic Gold medalist Earvin Ngapeth scored 15 points for Poitiers (48% in attack with 2 errors and blocked 3 times), who remained at third place in the standings with 9 points behind leaders Montpellier, 11, and Tourcoing, both victorious in their respective games played yesterday.
The competition will continue already on Tuesday, with first three games of Round 5: Cannes will face Nice in the derby, Saint Nazaire will welcome Narbonne while Montpellier will face Chaumont in the big match.
