Turkey: all results of Round 3 – Spor Toto and Galatasaray to the top. Halkbank win big match vs. Ziraat

Round 3 of the SMS Group Efeler Ligi has been completed with all six scheduled matches.
The day’s results brought some intense competition across the board, with Spor Toto who dominated Istanbul GSK with a clean 3-0 victory (25:16, 25:16, 25:23) and the consequent first place in the current charts with 8 points, led in score by Salvador Hidalgo Oliva (20 points through an impressive 82% in attack, 1 ace and 1 block), along with Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, who triumphed by 3-1 against Akkuş Bld. (25:20, 25:17, 25:27, 25:21), with 21 points from Olympic Gold medalist Jean Patry.
Behind them with 7 points Ziraat Bankkart, who suffered a 2-3 (22:25, 25:21, 18:25, 25:23, 10:15) defeat in big match against Halkbank in front of 4500 volleyball fans, despite 29 points by Matthew Anderson (3 aces, 2 blocks and 60% in attack). Decisive among the winners Marek Sotola, author of 28 points through an excellent 76% in attack, with 1 block and 2 aces.
On Hotels Alanya Belediyespor swept Türşad 3-0 (25:16, 25:17, 25:20) with 9 aces and 19 points from Bardia Saadat, while Rams Global Cizre secured a hard-fought home win with the score of 3-2 (25:21, 25:16, 17:25, 20:25, 15:9) over still winless but Supercup winners Arkas Spor.
The third round has been closed today with the hard-fought success of Altekma over Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor with the score of 3-1 (25:19, 25:23, 22:25, 33:31) after 2 hours and 15 minutes of play.
