Olympiacos advance to Champions League Group Stage after a double straight sets win over Brașov

2 min read

Olympiacos Piraeus secured their place in 2024/25 Champions League group stage with another 3-0 (25:23, 30:28, 25:23) win against side CSM Corona Brașov after the success in Romania in first leg with the same result.
Despite some tense moments in the second set, where Brașov almost leveled the score, the Greek powerhouse managed to clinch the victory after being better in key moments of the match, also thanks to 5 kill blocks from Mitar Djurić, that sealed a 30-28 win.
Match top scorer was Aleksandar Atanasijević with 21 points through 48% attack, including 1 block and 5 aces.
Olympiacos is now set to face tough competition in Group B, along with Turkish top team Fenerbahçe, Germany’s Gießen, and Italy’s Vero Volley Monza, their first opponent on November 14th.
Tomorrow the last match of Champions League early round between Orion Stars Doetinchem from The Netherlands and Hypo Tirol Innsbruck. Austrian Champions won first leg in straight sets.
