Italy: Modena win advance of Round 6. Verona defeated at tie break

After almost two hours and a half of intense play, Valsa Group Modena won at tie break on the field of Rana Verona the advance of Round 6 of 2024/25 Superlega CredemBanca, 2-3 (25:22, 18:25, 25:18, 21:25, 12:15). In a game with lot of ups and downs in both sides, Verona relies too much on Noumory Keita, who had been honored pre-game as October’s Credem Banca MVP, and today author of 31 points and absolute top scorer of the match, but he wasn’t enough.
His teammate, Donovan Dzavoronok, also contributed with 16 points, and Lorenzo Cortesia added 12.
For the winners, Tommaso Rinaldi led the charge with 22 points, Paul Buchegger followed him with 18, while middle blocker Simone Anzani made a strong impact with 16 points, helping his team to clinch a close victory.
Round 6 will close tomorrow with the other games, including an Italian big classic between Sir Susa Vim Perugia and Cucine Lube Civitanova, while the other leaders Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, without injured Uros Kovacevic (joint resentment, his recovery will be defined in these days), will welcome Allianz Milano. Piacenza and Perugia sit to the top of the current charts both with 14 points.
