Austria: Amstetten close Round 5 with a victory. All results of Round 6

Round 6 of 2024/25 powerfusion VL Men round started on Saturday with four games in which the home teams emerged victorious.
UVC Holding Graz left no chances to newcomers Sportunion z+p St. Pölten, celebrating a clean 3-0 win, partially 25:18, 25:17 and 25:17.
On Tuesday, head coach Zoltan Mozer’s team will play the Challenge Cup first leg in Hungary, against MÁV Foxconn Szekesfehervar.
The encounter between defending champions HYPO TIROL Volleyballteam and VCA Amstetten NÖ was just as one-sided.
Four days before their first Champions League group game on the field of top Polish club Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, they beat the Mostviertler 3-0 (25:14, 25:16, 25:18) in just 59 minutes of play. Arthur Nath (14), Niklas Kronthaler and Kyle Paulson (12 each) were the top scorers in the USI hall.
UVC McDonald’s Ried remains the closest pursuers of HYPO TIROL also after a great win against SK Zadruga Aich/Dob, also ended in straight sets (25:21, 25:19, 25:22) in their Raiffeisen Volleydome, and they are still only one point behind the league leaders. Top scorers for the winners were Borys Zhukov (18) and Markus Berger (14) and for a disappointing Aich/Dob Pierre Halagahu (13).
Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel also only needed three sets to beat the last-placed VBK Kelag Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt (25:21, 25:21, 25:21). The Northmen celebrated their second victory, while the rivals are still waiting for their first set win. Match MVP Niklas Stooß was clearly the top scorer of the match with 21 points, while Paul Nusterer added 10.
Vice champions TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg won the last game of the round against TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien on Sunday evening, in three sets (25:19, 25:17, 25:15) too, and is now the first pursuer of the undefeated top teams HYPO TIROL Volleyballteam and UVC McDonald’s Ried.
The best scorers in the Stadtwerke-Hartberg-Halle were Lukas Glatz (17 points), Tobias Willimek and captain Maximilian Steinböck (14 each). On Wednesday the Styrian team will be guests on the field of Spain’s Guaguas Las Palmas in the CEV Cup.
Top scorers for the team from country’s capital were Karlo Jakovac (11) and Jakub Kocvara (10).
VCA Amstetten NÖ beat last-placed VBK Kelag Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt 3-0 (25:22, 25:20, 25:23) in the afternoon’s last game of Round 5 to consolidate their 8th place. The Mostviertel team is six points ahead of newcomersSportunion z+p St. Pölten.
Top scorers in the Johann-Pölz-Halle were Bálint Kecskemeti, Balasz Bibok (14 each) and Ivan Mandura (11) for the home team and Simon Frühbauer (9), Ben Stockhammer and Mathias Wultsch (8 each) for the guests.
