Austria: Aich/Dob win Game 2 in Graz to close season at 3rd place for second season in a row!

SK Zadruga Aich/Dob finished 2024/25 Powerfusion VL Men’s season at third place for the second year in a row, and they did it after a 1-3 (25:12, 24:26, 19:25, 23:25) success in Game 2 of best-of-3 series for third place on the field of UVC Holding Graz.
A week ago, Aich/Dob won Game 1 at tie break.
In front of their home fans, Graz had a perfect start, taking a 9-1 lead and having no problem to take the first set with a clean 25-12.
However, the visiting side quickly reacted in a hard-fought second set, won at third match point.
“We achieved the minimum; the bronze medal is damage limitation. This is the 21st time in a row that we’ve finished the season in the top three,” sports director and coach Martin Micheu summarized.
The top scorers at the Raiffeisen Sportpark were Benedikt Sablatnig with 20 points, Ulve Steidl who added 13 and Johannes Kratz with 9 for Graz, while Bryan Camino Martinez, who tallied 15, Vitor Yamamoto, and Jakub Klajmon with 10 each were the most prolific players for the winners, who also were better in blocking (5 to 10), and from the service line (2 aces to 6).
