Coupe de France: Saint Jean D’Illac eliminated Sète! Cannes win another derby with Nice and the others of 16th finals

16th Finals of 2024/25 Coupe de France has been played today and not without upsets.
The news of the day come from Saint-Jean D’Illac, where the hosts of ASI Volley, last season in Ligue A but then relegated after just one season in elite French championship, defeated Sète in just three thrilling sets, 3-0 (25:23, 26:24, 25:22).
Oussama Ben Romdhane top-scored the winners with 19 points, while MVP Gauthier Bonnefoy also contributed with 15. Tristan Schlineger and Daenan Gyimah scored 10 points each for the hosts.

The other Ligue A side who competed today was Poitiers, who struggled more that expected but eventually managed to win on the field of Cambrai after a thrilling 2-3 (19:25, 25:21, 18:25, 25:21, 11:15), with 22 points from top scorer and MVP Earvin Ngapeth.
Tie break away win also for Royan, on the field of Avignon, 2-3 (25:27, 25:22, 25:17, 25:27, 12:15), while the other clashes ended in straight sets: Ligue A team Narbonne won on the field of Martigues with the score of 0-3 (19:25, 21:25, 23:25), Ajaccio won on the field of Grand Nancy (23:25, 21:25, 20:25), Frejus destroyed CAJVB also on the road (10:25, 20:25, 20:25), while Saint Quentin easily defeated Reims (25:22, 25:17, 25:22) on their home soil.
