Midweek Round 13 of 2024/25 MARMARA Spike League has been played entirely today with all its 6 scheduled games.
After a dayoff, Tourcoing continued their successful path after a clean 0-3 (20:25, 16:25, 28:30) victory on the field of newcomers Cannes.
In addition to a better performance in blocking, scoring 10 points from this element (6 only from Jan Martinez Franchi) compared to the hosts’2, the winners struggled only in a never ending third set, led in score by Pablo Koukartsev, top scorer of the match with 20 points through 53% in attack and 2 blocks. Only Reda Haikal reached a double digit for Cannes, leaving the court with 13 points, all in attack, through 46%.
Tourcoing, alone to the top with 31 points and with only one defeat in Ligue A boast a +6 lead from Montpellier and Chaumont, both with 25 points.
The first one literally destroyed Poitiers, 3-0 (25:12, 25:16, 25:16), after just 1 hour and 7 minutes of play, in front of more than 2600 volleyball fans, and with an impressive performance in attack (61% to 36%) and blocking (14 to 3). Dimitar Dimitrov was the most prolific player of the game with 18 points through 62% in attack, 4 aces and 4 blocks. Only Earvin Ngapeth, who soon will say good bye to the club, reached a double digit for Poitiers with 12 points to his name, 3 aces and 45% in attack.
Chaumont needed four sets to prevail at home over Toulouse, 3-1 (25:18, 25:27, 25:22, 27:25), after almost two hours of intense play, led by top scorer Pierre Toledo, who led the charge with 22 points with 1 ace, 1 block and 65% in attack.
After a disastrous start, Tours continued their winning streak consisting in 6 victories in a row counting all competition, trampling over Sète with the score of 3-0 (25:18, 25:14, 25:14) after 1 hours and 9 minutes of play, and the same did Narbonne, who stunned a disappointing Nice winning the game in just three sets, 0-3 (23:25, 21:25, 19:25).

Casey Schouten led the charge with 18 points to his name through 49% in attack and 1 block, while MVP Liam Patte added 14 also with 1 block and 45% in attack. Alexandros Raptis top-scored the hosts and the game with 20 points to his name (50% in attack and 1 block), but he wasn’t enough.
Close the picture the 1-3 (25:10, 23:25, 22:25, 22:25) win of Paris on the field of defending champions Saint Nazaire, now second-to-last at +3 from last-placed Plessis Robinson (who had a dayoff today) and -2 from today’s rivals.
After dominating first set, nothing to to for titleholders, who struggled above all in key moments of the game.
Ligue A will continue on Friday with Round 14 advance between Toulouse and Nice.
