Italy: 3 points for Milano, 2 for Perugia and Piacenza in Round 1 of second leg

After an exciting historical victory of newcomers Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina on the field
of Vero Volley Monza on Friday and two games postponed due Club World Championship, won today by Brazilian powerhouse Sada Cruzeiro, Round 12 of 2024/25 Superlega CredemBanca or, if you prefer, Round 1 of second leg, continued today with other three games.
The day startet with Allianz Milano who took their revenge after a straight sets defeat in first leg with a clean win with the same result, 3-0 (25:21, 25:19, 25:21), against a good Gioiella Prisma Taranto, who suffered the rivals’ serve (8 aces) as well as the performace of Ferre Reggers, who left the court with 19 points to his name through 67% in attack, 2 aces and MVP award.
Taranto recorded a good performance in blocking wih 7 points from this element compared to the winners’ 5, but this was the only number in their favor after 1 hour and 21 minutes of play.

Leaders and titleholders Sir Susa Vim Perugia struggled more than expected on the field of Rana Verona but, after five sets, kept ther perfect record winning the game with the score of 2-3 (19:25, 25:23, 20:25, 25:22, 7:15).
After a balanced start, Oleh Plotnytskyi made the difference also taking MVP award thanks to his 27 points seasoned by 6 aces and 4 winning blocks, one more than Rok Mozic for the hosts.
In the evening, Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza edged out Valsa Group Modena 2-3 (21:25, 25:16, 25:20, 20:25, 6:15) in an intense derby to close the first round of return phase.
MVP Alessandro Bovolenta, with his 16 points, led the winners’ comeback, sealing a dominant fifth set after a thrilling battle in front of over 3,000 volleyball fans.
Double digit also for Gianluca Galassi, who added 15, Stephen Maar and Uros Kovacevic, with 14 and 11, respectively.
