Poland: Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and Ślepsk Malow Suwałki win Sunday games of Round 16

Round 16 of 2024/25 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
Asseco Resovia Rzeszów pulled off a hard-fought 1-3 (23:25, 23:25, 30:28, 19:25) win on the field of PSG Stal Nysa, led by an almost unstoppable Jakub Bucki, who left the court with 27 points to his name including 3 blocks, 1 ace, 61% in attack and MVP honors. However, a tough blow hit Resovia, as Bartosz Bednorz, who also contributed with 21 points through 66% in attack, 1 ace and 1 block, injured his finger and faces weeks off the court. The hosts battled well but couldn’t capitalize, staying just above the relegation zone.
In one of the season’s most thrilling matches, Ślepsk Malow Suwałki defeated Norwid Częstochowa 3-2 (26:24, 24:26, 20:25, 25:21, 18:16).
After 166 minutes of intense play, MVP Bartosz Filipiak led the charge with 29 points to his name (including 3 of his team’s 10 aces and 57% in attack), sealing a dramatic tie-break victory (18-16). Ślepsk Malow Suwałki serves gave them the edge, while Norwid Częstochowa strong blocking, with 13 points from this element compared to the winners’ 3 kept it close.
Round 16 will close tomorrow with the last game between Trefl Gdańsk and Cuprum Stilon Gorzów.
