Poland: Round 17 is over – 3 points for Lublin, Warszawa and Stal Nysa

Round 17 of 2024/25 Plusliga or, if you prefer, Round 2 of second leg, has been closed today with last three scheduled games.
Bogdanka Luk Lublin overwhelmed Trefl Gdańsk with a commanding 0-3 (15:25, 16:25, 22:25) win, showing complete control in the first two sets and closing the match in the third one, in front of 5200 volley fans in Gdańsk.
MVP and top scorer of the match Wilfredo Leon with 18 points to his name including 2 aces, 3 blocks and 68% in attack.
Straight sets success also for PGE Projekt Warszawa, delivered a flawless 3-0 (25:21, 25:19, 26:24) victory against newcomers Nowak-Mosty MKS Będzin, maintaining their edge in first two sets, and struggling only in third one, in which they had to recover from 18-21! Tobias Brand led the charge with 20 points through 63% in attack, 3 blocks and 2 aces, while libero Damian Wojtaszek earned MVP award.
In the evening, PSG Stal Nysa showcased their power with a 3-1 (25:16, 20:25, 25:15, 25:19) win over GKS Katowice, dominating three out of four sets to secure the match, with 21 points from top scorer and MVP Michal Gierzot (4 of his team’s 10 aces, 3 blocks and 45% in attack)
Plusliga will continue on Saturday, December 28, with two games that will open Round 18: BOGDANKA LUK Lublin will face Barkom Każany Lwów, while Nowak-Mosty MKS Będzin will welcome Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa.
