Austria: regular season is over. Hartberg to 2nd place, Hypo Tirol undefeated and the others of Round 18

Round 18 of Powerfusion VL Men has been closed today with the last game between VCA Amstetten NÖ and SK Zadruga Aich/Dob, marking the end of 2024/25 regular season, ended with the score of 0-3 (18:25, 20:25, 23:25) in favor of the visiting side, who ended this part of competition at third place!
On Saturday, last season’s runners-up TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg secured 2nd place after a 3-0 (25:21, 28:26, 25:19) victory over UVC McDonald’s Ried. Hartberg will face VCA Amstetten NÖ in upcoming quarterfinals. Top scorers in the Stadtwerke-Hartberg-Halle were Lukas Glatz and Tobias Willimek with 14 points each, while Borys Zhukov (10) and Gracjan Bozek (8) were the most prolific players on the losing side.
Defending Champions HYPO TIROL volleyball team were already confirmed as winners of the preliminary round in mid-January and will meet TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien in the quarter-finals. On Saturday, the Innsbruck side hosted UVC Holding Graz, once again showing high quality and celebrating their 18th victory in as many games with a clear 3-0 (25:20, 25:10, 25:17), dropping only three sets throughout the season! Top scorers in the USI-Halle today Niklas Kronthaler (13) and Kyle Hobus (12), and Benedikt Sablatnig (11) and Arwin Kopschar (6) for Graz.
Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel (6th) finished the preliminary round with a 3-2 (25:23, 25:17, 23:25, 22:25, 21:19) home victory over TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien (8th), led by a great Paul Nusterer, absolute top scorer of the match with 32 points, well supported by Illia Dovhyi who added 21.
Kelag Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt (10th) and Sportunion z+p St. Pölten (9th) have to fight in the relegation round to stay in the top division. On Saturday they met for the second time this season, with newcomers who prevailed at tie break 3-2 (18:25, 25:23, 14:25, 25:23, 15:8), over a winless Klagenfurt.
