CEV Cup: Ziraat, Resovia and Tours, after an amazing comeback, take first steps towards semifinals

After the success of Trentino Itas in France, first leg of 2024/25 CEV Cup quarterfinals has been completed today with last three games.
All easy for current Efeler Ligi leaders Ziraat Bank Ankara, who destroy ACH Volley Ljubljana in Slovenia with a clean 0-3 (21:25, 20:25, 19:25).
After just 77 minutes of play, Tonček Stern and Trevor Clevenot led the charge with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Away win also for Asseco Resovia Rzeszow from Poland, who won on the field of Turkey’s Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul by 1-3 (25:22, 18:25, 15:25, 23:25), with 25 points from a super Bartosz Bednorz, including 5 of his teams’ 13 aces, 1 block and 63% in attack.
In Belgium, after dominating first two sets with a double 25-15, Knack Roeselare suffered a comeback of Tours VB from France, losing the game at tie break, 2-3 (25:15, 25:15, 28:30, 23:25, 10:15). Alexandre Strehlau, who started from the bench, led the charge scoring 24 points for the winners, with 3 aces and 60% in attack, well supported by Antoine Pothron, who added 22.
