Hypo Tirol lift 7th Austrian Cup! Aich/Dob defeated in straight sets! 27th cup title for VB NÖ Sokol/Post for women

The Austrian Volley Cup Men’s Champion 2025 is super favorite HYPO TIROL volleyball team, who won the final in a sold-out JUFA Arena in Bleiburg against hosts and defending champions SK Zadruga Aich/Dob 3-0 (25:21, 25:22, 25:16). And this was already their fourth win of the season over the Carinthians!
The hosts suffered the injury of Cuban bomber Carlos Charles Santana (broken finger in training), while his compatriot Bryan Camino Martinez, who injured his ankle two weeks ago, was not in the starting lineup. Even if penalized by the absences, Aich/Dob delivered a thrilling first set but, ultimately, the experienced HYPO TIROL narrowly prevailed.
In the second set, Niklas Kronthaler and his teammates gained an 8-point lead. Aich/Dob head coach Lucio Oro then sent on the court Camino Martinez in a change that had his effects, as the hosts came back and even leveled the score until 22-22. However, they were unable to capitalize, and the next three points went to the HYPO TIROL volleyball team.
And, at this point, Aich/Dob had no chance in the 3rd set.
Top scorers Sunday evening in the JUFA Arena were Noel Krassnig (10) and Vitor Yamamoto (8) for the hosts, while Kyle Hobus (18) and MVP Niklas Kronthaler (14) led the charge for the winners.
The Innsbruck team now holds all national titles: they are reigning champions, cup and supercup winners.
“It was a good game, the 1st and 2nd sets were hard-fought and played at a high level. We closed the game in the 3rd set and are of course satisfied. If we play at a level that is good for us, we are difficult to beat,” said HYPO TIROL VT captain Niklas Kronthaler.
Aich/Dobs Noel Krassnig, author of 10 points, added “we had a good performance for a long time, but we fell in the 3rd set. Even in the role of underdog, you have high hopes, but the Tyroleans played very well.”
Earlier, in the Women competition, VB NÖ Sokol/Post lived up to their role as favorite with a 3-1 (19:25, 25:22, 25:19, 25:15) win against surprise team Erzbergmadln Trofaiach-Eisenerz in the full-packed JUFA Arena Bleiburg.
For Sokol/Post this was the first title since 2022 and the 27th cup victory overall!
Erzbergmadln coach Michael Murauer had to play without captain Julia Mitter due illness. Sokol/Post captain Aida Mehic was named MVP.
