Poland: 3 points for leaders Jastrzębski, Warszawa and Lublin on Sunday games of Round 26

Round 26 of 2024/25 Plusliga or, if you prefer, Round 11 of second leg, continued today with other three games.
Jastrzębski Węgiel defeated ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle 3-0 (25:21, 25:22, 25:19) in a big classic PlusLiga clash. The first two sets were closely contested, but current leaders and titleholders showed their strength in crucial moments, until third set, in which they quickly gained a solid lead and secured a confident victory.
This marks Jastrzębski’s 21st win of the season, keeping them at the top of the table with 66 points, five ahead of their closest pursuers Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie.
Tomasz Fornal led the charge with 15 points to his name, closely followed by Thimotee Carle, who added 14, while setter Juan Ignacio Finoli was named MVP of the game. Bartosz Kurek and Rafał Szymura scored 14 and 12 points respectively for ZAKSA.
PGE Projekt Warszawa secured a 3-1 (25:23, 22:25, 25:13, 25:19) victory over Indykpol AZS Olsztyn in another PlusLiga battle. After struggling in the first two sets, the Warsaw team took full control in the final two, claiming their 22nd league win.
With 60 points, Projekt sits third in the standings, just one point behind Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and six behind the leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel. Meanwhile, Olsztyn remains in the race for the playoffs with 34 points, three behind eighth-placed Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa.
MVP Bartłomiej Bołądź was the man of the match with 17 points to his name through 62% in attack and 2 aces, while Tobias Brand and Kevin Tillie also contributed with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
3 points also for BOGDANKA LUK Lublin who, in the evening, beat Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa also in four sets, 3-1 (25:19, 17:25, 25:21, 25:20).
Round 26 will close tomorrow with the clash between Barkom Każany Lwów and PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów.
