Challenge Cup: Cucine Lube Civitanova first 2025 finalist! SK Ankara destroyed also in second leg

Italian powerhouse Cucine Lube Civitanova is the first finalist of 2024/25 CEV Challenge Cup, and they did it after a double straight sets win over Turkey’s SK Ankara, better known in world of volleyball of Spor Toto. In final they’ll face the winners between Bogdanka LUK Lublin and Portugal’s Sporting CP Lisboa, with the team from Poland who easily won first leg also in straight sets.
After a clear 3-0 home sweep in first leg, the Civitanova-based-team did the same in Turkey, winning the game with the score of 0-3 (19:25, 17:25, 16:25), with a dominant performqnfe in blocking, with 9 points from this element, and attack, led by Eric Loeppky, MVP and top scorer of the match with 15 points through 58% in attack, 1 ace and 3 blocks. Double digit also for Adis Lagumdzija and Barthlemy Chinenyeze, with 11 points each.
Not a good day for the hosts, with only Thomas Edgar who reached a double digit with 10 points.
Tomorrow Bogdanka LUK Lublin will face Sporting CP Lisboa in other semifinal.
