Olympiacos Piraeus secured a historic spot in 2024/25 CEV Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2001, more precisely, after 23 years, defeating Saint-Nazaire VB Atlantique 3-1 (25:19, 18:25, 25:23, 25:21) in the decisive second-leg match.
The Greek powerhouse had won also the first leg in France with the same score, sealing their well-deserved qualification with a dominant performance.
Serbian opposite Aleksandar Atanasijevic led the winners with 17 points through 68% in attack, also earning the MVP title. The team showed resilience, bouncing back from a second-set loss to claim victory in four sets.
With this result, all Champions League quarter-final matchups are confirmed. Olympiacos will now face Champions of Poland and two-time finalist Jastrzębski Węgiel.
