Italy: Perugia and Trento open playoffs quarterfinals with victories!

2024/25 SuperLega Credem Banca Playoffs kicked off with two home wins. No.2 in regular season Sir Susa Vim Perugia battled past No.7 Valsa Group Modena in a thrilling four-set match, while leaders Itas Trentino dominated No.8 Cisterna Volley with a clean sweep.
At Perugia’s PalaBarton, volleyball fans witnessed an intense showdown as the hosts overcame Modena in a match lasting 2 hours and 32 minutes, in what was the second-longest four-set match in SuperLega’s history!
After losing the first set, Perugia fought back, winning a dramatic second set 32-30 before sealing the victory with the score of 3-1 (23:25, 32:30, 25:22, 25:18).
Setter Simone Giannelli earned the MVP title with a great all-around performance.
Meanwhile, Itas Trentino made quick work against Cisterna, closing the game after a tight first set, and then cruising to a clean straight-sets win, 3-0 (25:23, 25:19, 25:14). Kamil Rychlicki lead the winners’ attack with 18 points to his name also securing the MVP award.
Tomorrow No.3 in regular season Cucine Lube Civitanova will welcome No.6 Allianz Milano, while fourth-placed Rana Verona will face No.5 Gas Sales BluEnergy Piacenza.
