After two advances played yesterday, in which BOGDANKA LUK Lublin and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie earned three points, midweek Round 23 of 2025/26 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
Four sets win for Energa Trefl Gdańsk, who down newcomers and second-to-last InPost ChKS Chełm by 3-1 (25:21, 26:28, 25:19, 25:14) to move up to sixth place. The hosts won 25:21, dropped a tight second set 26:28, and then closed the match led by Tobias Brand who left the court with 19 points to his name, well supported by Aliaksei Nasevich who added 16 and earned MVP honors after attacking at 56% efficiency (13/23), adding one ace and two blocks. Amirhossein Esfandiar top-scored Chełm with 21 points, with Remigiusz Kapica adding 19, but the visitors could not prevent defeat as they continue their fight to stay in the Polish elite championship.
In the evening, PGE Projekt Warszawa returned to winning ways with a 3-1 (20:25, 25:22, 25:22, 25:19) victory over last-placed Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa, strengthening their hold on second place in the standings. After dropping the opening set, the hosts responded confidently, taking the next three 25:22, 25:22, 25:19 to secure all three points without major problems.
Bartosz Gomułka led the winners with 18 points, while Kevin Tillie added 17 and was named MVP with 13 kills at 36% efficiency, along with one ace, three blocks, and 47% positive reception. Bartosz Bednorz also contributed with 16 points. For Częstochowa, Milad Ebadipour scored 19, supported by Bartłomiej Lipiński who added 17 and Patrik Indra with 14, but the visitors remain to the bottom of the charts, four points behind the nearest rivals.
