Austria: Relegation Round continues – all results of the weekend

Powerfusion Volley League 2024/25 Relegation Round continues in the weekend with other 4 games.

UNIONvolleys Bisamberg-Hollabrunn team can look back on a very successful weekend, inflicting their first defeat on league leaders Sportunion z+p St. Pölten on Saturday afternoon, winning the game with the score of 3-2 (25:20, 21:25, 22:25, 27:25, 15:11).
On Sunday, they earned other three points with a four-set victory against last-placed HIB Volley Graz (25:14, 30:32, 25:14, 25:21).

“The support of our fans and the incredible energy within the team gave us the decisive push against St. Pölten – arguably the strongest team in the relegation playoffs. These two points were incredibly important. Our chance of promotion is still alive,” said UNIONvolleys middle blocker Sebastian Mantler.

His teammate Florian Lucic, after the 3-1 win against Graz, added: “We only had a short recovery phase. Nevertheless, we were back on top. With five points this weekend, we showed that we have our sights firmly set on promotion.”

VBK Kelag Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt secured an important victory against VBC TLC Weiz, winning 3-1 (25:18, 25:22, 27:29, 25:16) to consolidate second place, while hotVolleys Wien defeated last-placed Graz 3-2 (28:26, 16:25, 25:21, 23:25, 15:13).
