2 min read

In an unexpected move, the Spanish Royal Volleyball Federation (RFEVB) has officially announced Hubert Henno as the new head coach of the Spanish men’s national team.
French coach will lead Spain into the upcoming Golden European League and the 2026 European Championship qualifiers.

48-years-old head coach is a prominent figure in French volleyball, boasting a stellar record of 254 caps with the national team, featuring also two Champions League titles, a CEV Cup, and championship victories across France, Italy, and Russia.
Since retiring as a player in 2019, he has most recently coached Nantes Rezé Métropole Volley from 2021 to 2024, following a previous appearance with Tours VB from 2019 to 2021.

Starting in May, he will start his coaching season in Guadalajara, where the national team will begin their preparations for a competitive season ahead.

This marks a new era for Spanish men’s volleyball. Hubert brings energy, vision, and a winning mindset. We believe he’s the right leader to elevate our game,” said RFEVB President Felipe Pascual.

Meanwhile, Hubert Henno will also continue coaching the Polish club Cuprum Stilon Gorzów.
